Academy of Media Production

A collegiate media experience for high school students

This four-week workshop presents the opportunity to explore the many aspects of media production while developing the skills needed to be a successful storyteller.

AMP students learn the power of good writing and visual storytelling by creating videos, short films, webcasts, multi-camera productions, and more. This on-campus, live-in college program gives students the tools to pursue all facets of media production, while collaborating with like-minded students, making new friends, and having a life-changing summer experience in the heart of Boston.

Learn. Create. Experience. It’s time to AMP UP!

Note: Boston University COVID-19 policies require all Summer Term pre-college students to follow University-wide vaccination requirements, on-campus testing requirements, and Massachusetts Department of Health quarantine and isolation guidance in place at the time of their programs. Please visit the Back2BU website for further details and updates as they become available.

Learn & Create

Harness the skills to be an effective storyteller

AMP presents the theory, technical instruction, and practical application to develop a student’s abilities as an effective storyteller. Everyone spends the first four days of the program in an introductory Skills Training session. Students then select three five-day workshops from the following options: Filmmaking, Documentary Production, TV Studio Production, Visual Effects, and Podcast & Broadcast.

To find out more, read the recent BU Today article outlining the AMP hands-on learning experience.
